Ceramic Braces
Tooth-coloured brackets that blend with your smile while doing the same heavy lifting as metal.
Duration
18 to 24 months, the same range as metal braces treating an equivalent case.
Visits
One adjustment every 4 to 6 weeks, with a tie replacement at each one.
Ceramic braces work exactly like metal braces (same brackets, same wire, same monthly tightening) except the brackets themselves are tooth-coloured, so they blend into your smile instead of standing out in every photo. Mechanically, there is no difference in what they can correct.
The trade-off is cost and a little extra care. Ceramic brackets are more expensive than metal, and the elastic ties that hold the wire in place can pick up stains from tea, coffee or turmeric, so we replace them at every visit rather than leaving them for months.
Suits you if
Working adults and anyone who wants the results of metal braces without the visible metal, especially if you're client-facing at work or getting married during treatment.
Probably not for you if
Anyone on a tight budget: ceramic costs more than metal for an identical result. If the look genuinely doesn't matter to you, metal does the same job for less.

“Dr Manjeet is highly knowledgeable and took the time to explain every step of the treatment in a clear and reassuring way. He was patient with all my questions and made sure I fully understood my options before moving forward.”
The brackets themselves don't. The clear elastic ties holding the wire can, which is why we swap them at every adjustment rather than letting them discolour between visits.
Slightly, yes. They're a bit more prone to chipping under hard impact, which is one reason we recommend a mouthguard for contact sports regardless of bracket material.
See both prices side by side on our plans page. The gap varies by case complexity, so we'd rather show you the real numbers than a rough estimate here.
